Science begins with curiosity. Every question we ask about our world, our skies, our oceans, or even outer space can become the starting point for discovery and innovation. What kind of future can young researchers create when science meets imagination? How can technology help communities live more sustainably, safely, and creatively? What ideas today could transform the world tomorrow?

 

Leave a Nest Philippines invites young researchers from junior and senior high schools across the country to take the next step in their research journey through Science Castle Grant 2026, a program designed to empower young minds to explore bold ideas and innovative solutions.

 

This program supports students who are ready to challenge existing knowledge and develop solutions inspired by science and technology.  Selected teams will receive a research grant and undergo a 5-month journey of exploration, supported by mentors from Leave a Nest and Lockheed Martin. Final results will be presented at Science Castle Philippines 2027 , a national research conference that celebrates the ideas and discoveries of the next generation of change-makers.

[Engineering]
Materials, Structures, and Design Innovation
Explore how advanced materials and engineering design enhance the strength, durability, safety, and sustainability of everyday systems and technologies.

 

[Exploration]
Sustainable Exploration and Discovery
Investigate safer and more sustainable ways to explore oceans, forests, remote environments, or space-related systems.

 

[Systems]
Sensing, Monitoring, and Detection Systems
Explore technologies that help observe, detect, measure, and understand environments, structures, or changing conditions.

 

[Robotics]
Human-Machine Collaboration
Study how humans and intelligent technologies can work together more effectively, safely, and efficiently.

概要

Who can Apply? A team of up to 5 members from Junior and Senior Highschool Students in the Philippines. There is no limit on the number of applications that a school can submit.

申請条件

TEAM COMPOSITION

  • Each team may have up to 5 student members from the same school or institution.
  • A teacher or adviser must serve as the official applicant on behalf of the team and is responsible for securing consent from the school and/or guardians.

 

RESEARCH COMMITMENT

  • Selected teams MUST commit to a 5 -month research period (August–December 2026) .
  • Projects may be brand-new research or continuations of existing work , as long as they fit the spirit of innovation and is inspired by aviation and aerospace themes.
  • Teams are expected to join monthly online mentoring sessions with Leave a Nest and Lockheed Martin to guide their research progress.


FINALIST PARTICIPATION

  • 3 Finalist Teams are required to attend the full duration of Science Castle Philippines 2027 , which will take place on January 23, 2027 .

  • Applications are open exclusively to junior and senior high schools in the Philippines .
