A new initiative at Science Castle 2015 is the THINKERS Award, an award for presenters from all venues.<\/p>\n

\n<Summary of Research
\nIn April, a friend of mine dislocated his hand while playing dodgeball with a balance ball. Therefore, this study aimed to elucidate the cause of the dislocation, and focused on the \"softness\" of the balance ball and the direction in which it hit the hand. In the study of the softness of the ball, we analyzed images of the falling of the balance ball and elucidated the danger of a soft ball from the force product. In the experiment on the direction of the ball hitting the hand, we used a model of a hand and dropped a ball on it to elucidate the direction in which the ball hit the hand. From these two experiments, we concluded that the act of throwing a balance ball is a dangerous act and proposed a safe way to pick up the ball.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

It seems that the fact that they are working on research and coming to their own conclusions from a very familiar place has won the appreciation of their teenage peers who are registered with THINKERS.<\/p>\n
