On Wednesday, December 23, 2015, Liberace, Inc. will hold its fourth annual conference for middle and high school students in the Kansai region, \"Science Castle 2015 Kansai Conference.<\/span><\/p>\n

Have you ever wondered how to start your research?<\/span><\/p>\n

All research begins with the researcher's \"curiosity. The driving force for conducting research is to turn familiar mysteries into interests. The Kansai Conference will be held at<\/span>The school will bring together researchers from companies, universities, and junior and senior high schools. In addition to research presentations, the event will also provide a forum for discussing how the research was initiated.<\/span><\/p>\n

Two internationally active researchers will talk about their research. They will talk about why they started their research and what they envision for the future based on their research results.<\/p>\n

10:00-10:20 Special Lecture \"Why it is weird when androids talk (tentative)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\nThe robot's conversation is a little creepy, with no sense of emotion. Why is this? Dr. Suzuki, a speech science researcher, will talk about the \"development of technology for robots to communicate in emotional conversations.<\/p>\n

13:10-13:30 Special Lecture \"The Human-Canine Bond<\/strong><\/p>\n

Azabu University Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Department of Applied Animal Science Professor KIKUMIZU Takeshi
\nHumans and dogs began living together more than 30,000 years ago. It is believed that a bond that transcends species has been created by \"looking at each other. We will talk with Dr. Kikusui of Azabu University, who reveals the science of bonding through hormones.<\/p>\n

In addition to the main research presentations and lectures, there will be research presentations by university students, workshops to find seeds of research, experiment classes by companies, and seminars by teachers to guide participants in their research projects. We will prepare a variety of events that will help participants communicate with each other and lead to the next research opportunity.<\/p>\n
