On Thursday, March 26, 2026, Lotte Central Research Institute (Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture) hosted the "Science Castle Research Grant Lotte Award Presentation of Results."
Liverness implements the Science Castle Research Grant as an opportunity for junior high and high school students, who are next-generation researchers, to deepen their research through dialogue with corporate researchers and create new value connected to society. The Science Castle Research Grant 2025 Lotte Award was established with the aim of discovering the unknown value of *karin* along with junior high and high school students, who are next-generation researchers.
For fiscal year 2025, we called for research under the theme of "Diverse research that contributes to enhancing the value of kalin," and received 18 entries from across the country. The three selected schools have been conducting their research for approximately six months, receiving mentorship from LNES, research coaches, and Lotte researchers.
On the day, after a tour of the Lotte factory, research presentations were conducted by three selected schools. The presentations were 10 minutes long, with a 5-minute Q&A session, and Lotte employees provided comments on the research content.
The presentations showcased the research achievements of each selected participant, including the potential of carotene as an antioxidant, its application in aquaculture feed, and the creation of sunscreens using plant-derived UV absorbers. This research presentation meeting provided an opportunity for the selected participants to present their research findings, deepen their research through dialogue with corporate researchers, and reflect on their activities over the past six months.
For the certificate of completion award ceremony, certificates were presented to representatives from each school, and comments were received from Lotte employees.
