With the philosophy of "proposing new things that do not exist in the world, blowing new winds into the world, and contributing to the creation of a prosperous society," THK Corporation established the THK Co-Education Project with Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. in 2017, aiming to "increase resourceful individuals who love manufacturing and can solve problems." In 2021, it was updated with the concept "Monozukuri 0.", which aims to support the manufacturing efforts of junior high and high school students, even by half a step or a full step. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Science Castle Research Grant Monozukuri 0. THK Award. Grant details Research funding of ¥100,000 plus THK Corporation products/technical advice from THK employees provided through monthly online consultations/kick-off event (online)/results presentation meeting.

Application Requirements

  • Junior high school students or high school and college of technology students who apply must apply on their own initiative.
  • Have the consent of the parent or guardian or the school to which the student belongs
  • Be able to provide information (including contact information) to be included in the application
  • Scheduled for weekdays in June from 4:30 PMArrange participation in the kickoff event (online) hosted by THK Co., Ltd. and Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. (The date will be notified to the selected teams.)
  • I will be able to participate in the results presentation meeting hosted by THK Corporation, scheduled for December 13th. (A portion of the travel expenses for attending the results presentation meeting will be subsidized.)
  • If the oral presentation time at Science Castle World and the timing of this research grant's results presentation overlap, and if this research grant is selected, you understand that you will prioritize the results presentation for this research grant.
  • You agree to the publication of information about the adopted team, research themes, and results (including personal information such as the adopter's name, age, affiliated school, and photograph) in media outlets operated by THK and Leave-a-Nest, whether on websites, publications, social media, or other platforms.

(Zero Dot) is a project launched by THK Co., Ltd. and Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. with the aim of supporting "monozukuri" (manufacturing/craftsmanship) among junior high and high school students. In addition to the Monozukuri 0. THK Award, we also offer rentals of THK monozukuri research and development materials. The Monozukuri 0. website also features a variety of video content. Through these resources, we encourage you to take even a small step, half a step, or even a 0.1 step forward into your own unique "monozukuri." The future is surely connected to what lies beyond.
